The Irwin family has requested that all donations be made to Wildlife Warriors Worldwide LTD

Tonight we watched the Barbara Walter's Special on Steve Irwin.
It was sad. We all cried. Quinn had a very hard time with it, even after the show.
But it made us realize that we need to do more than just be sad.
We need to help out.
So we went online to become Wildlife Warriors.

We found out something that is very cool.

100% of the operations cost of the organization is covered by the Australian Zoo this means that 100% of your donation goes to wildlife programs.

What do you say when one of your son's hero's dies?

Steve Irwin

Today was a sad day. We found out that Steve Irwin (aka Crocodile Hunter) died filming a documentary. He was only 44.

The crocodile hunter was Quinn's favorite real tv star. Steve did his job well. With nerdy boyish humor and real compassion for the animals as he showed us how special crocs and other beasts could be.
Steve Irwin
Steve and Quinn shared many unique similarities. Quinn loves the show and loves animals. Quinn volunteered at the fair this year, not in the tech pavilion, as in years past, but instead he was in Brad's reptile world.

I remember watching several shows with Quinn over the years. Steve had fun and made universal the word "Crikey".

Quinn was sad upon hearing the news. He did not want to believe it. He asked who would replace him and groaned at the thought of a reality tv show where people tried out.

Teague tried to cheer him up and told Quinn he could do it. Quinn just smiled and asked about Steve's wife and children. He seemed to understand that they were ok, just heart broken.

Steve Irwin was a star. He was entertaining and educational. He was compassionate and funny. I loved the episode where he swung around his garage like a monkey. He loved his wife and his children.

I sat and held quinn tight. He didn't cry. He was just experiencing his first of many life's lessons. When hero's die.

Quinn got off my lap and hoped outloud that they did not have to kill the sting ray, because he didn't do it on purpose.

And I told him, nope, I think steve would of wanted that sting ray, to be sent on his way...

Goodbye Steve, We will all miss you and thanks for touching our families lives and the lives of millions of people as well as the animals on this planet.

Steve, Terri, Bindi and Bob

Our Hearts, thoughts and prayers go out to the Irwins.
Terri, Bindi and Bob.
Please continue Steve's work.
